Candidates should possess the prescribed qualifications as given below.
1. DEAN OF HORTICULTURE
Qualifications
i. Essential
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture/Agriculture.
b. Ph.D Degree in Horticulture or any related disciplines to Horticulture
a. Minimum twenty years of experience in teaching/research/extension/ administration in Horticulture, out of which at least five years should be as Professor/ Principal Scientist/Associate Director or equivalent rank.
b. Significant professional achievements in his field of specialization/ activity.
ii. Desirable
a. Knowledge and experience of planning, organizing and administering research
programmes.
b. Unblemished record throughout the career in the past.
2. DIRECTOR OF RESARCH
Qualifications
i. Essential
(a) to (d) same as for Dean of Horticulture
c. Experience as part of duties in conducting basic/applied research of high quality as evidenced by published work/technologies developed.
ii. Desirable
Same as for Dean of Horticulture
3. DEAN OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
Qualifications
Essential
a. A Ph.D degree or any other equivalent doctorate degree.
b. A minimum five years of experience as Professor or its equivalent cadre in any Agricultural University.
Desirable
a. Wide experience of student problems, management and placement.
b. Training and experience in organizing co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of students.
c. Unblemished record throughout the career in the past.
4. CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS

5. DIRECTOR OF EXTENSION
Qualifications
Essential
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture/Agriculture.
b. Ph.D Degree in Horticulture/Agriculture.
c. Minimum twenty years of experience in teaching/research/extension in Horticulture/Agriculture with 5 years experience in Horticultural crops.
d. Atleast five years of experience should be as Professor/Principal Scientist/Associate Director or equivalent rank.
Desirable
a. Knowledge and experience of planning, organizing and administering various extension
programmes.
b. Unblemished record throughout the career in the past.
6. REGISTRAR
Qualifications
Essential
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture/Agriculture/Related Sciences.
b. Ph.D Degree in Horticulture/Agriculture.
c. Minimum twenty years of experience in teaching/research/extension in Horticulture/Agriculture/Related sciences, out of which at least five years should be as Professor/Principal Scientist/Associate Director or equivalent rank.
d. Minimum of 5 years of administrative experience as head of the station in a responsible management position dealing with academic matters/research and extension management/service matters and financial matters.
Desirable
a. Unblemished record throughout the career in the past.

The term of appointment of each post is for a period of 3 years from the date of assumption of charge or till the incumbent attains the age of superannuation i.e., 60 years, whichever is earlier.
Selected candidates shall be governed by Dr.Y.S.R Horticultural University (Conditions of Service) Statutes 2007 and they are eligible for new Contributory Pension Scheme of the University and such other conditions as may be prescribed by the University from time to time (other than those who are under ANGRAU service as on 1.9.2004).
The University reserves the right not to fill all or any of the vacancies notified. For obtaining applications by post, a self addressed and stamped envelope of Rs.40/- of the size 35 X 15 Cm. shall be enclosed to the requisition letter. The envelope containing the requisition for application form should be superscribed “REQUISITION FOR APPLICATION OF UNIVERSITY OFFCER POST” and sent to “THE REGISTRAR, Dr.Y.S.R Horticultural University,

Such applications should reach the undersigned on or before 10.2.2009 at 4.00 PM but the applications received after 10.2.2009, 4.00 PM cannot be entertained. The sale of applications begins from 23.1.2009. The last date for sale of applications is 5.2.2009. The University is not responsible for late receipt of applications due to postal delay.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. The University reserves the right not to fill up all or any of the posts advertised.
2. The discipline to which the Ph.D. degree belongs to shall be decided based on the
research work carried out by the candidate for his/her degree.
3. For reckoning the required experience for the post, the experience in the concerned
subject or discipline in teaching or extension or research shall only be considered as
relevant experience.
4. The applicants should mention service particulars if they are promoted under Career
Advancement Scheme/Merit Promotion Scheme in Employment Record.
5. Certified copies of degree or provisional certificates and marks Sheet/Transcripts should
be enclosed to the application. The originals should be brought at the time of interview.
6. While filling up of the application form part ‘B’.
i. Under item No.2 (meant for details of qualifications) the period of studies should be indicated clearly with date, month and year of joining and leaving studies. If any of the applicants did their
M.Sc. or Ph.D. by research, it should be clearly indicated.
ii. Under item No.6 (meant for employment record) the details of service rendered by the applicant in different cadres i.e. clearly with date, month and year of appointment and scale of pay and pay drawn. The period of study during the service should be indicated clearly.
iii. Service rendered outside Dr.Y.S.R HU if any should be clearly indicated.
iv. A certificate showing proof of service/experience outside Dr.Y.S.R HU should be enclosed.
v. Enclose 5 sets of Research Publications.
7. Applicants other than those in the service of Dr.Y.S.R HU should sent their applications through 6y mproper channel so as to reach the University within the prescribed date.
8. The inservice candidate of Dr.Y.S.R HU may send their applications direct.
9. The applicants should appear for interview when called at their own cost.
